A preliminary 2.5 magnitude earthquake rattled Huntington Beach late Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake was reported around 11:19 p.m. about 2 miles northwest of Huntington Beach, according to USGS.


There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

Six correctional officers were taken to hospitals to be treated for injuries sustained in an inmate attack at a prison in California, the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said, Associated Press reports. Donovan Correctional Facility near San Diego, spokesperson Terri Hardy said in a news release.
